Moving...

Remind me not to do so again, anytime soon. Ugg, what as process- and this is even before I've got heaps of furniture to move. Next time will be fun! Or not...

Anyway, I'm into my new place having slept here one night so far- on the couch. I'm still awaiting the new bed.

Furniture wise, I've got a kitchen table (trademe), a coffee table (Grahams trading), various cheap $15 each book shelf cubes or 3s, and a few shelves (Mitre 10 and Grahams). Still in much demand: bedside tables. Perhaps also a dresser.

I need to go hunting for a big long cord for my electric lawnmower so I can cut the grass- which 1 week into the tenancy is already too long.

I'm about 70% unpacked at this stage. Some critical things like the cell phone charger are still missing... And if my clothes look yucky- I don't know where the iron is- and I don't have an ironing board.

Almost into month end again- it's been rather busy at work and here the fun almost begins again.

In cat news, I went to visit my kitten this weekend. I am not decided at this point behind a slightly older blue girl ready before Christmas, and a beautiful spunky younger little girl not ready until the NY. Stay tuned.... Still no final call on kitten #2.

That's a wee update. Better get back to unpacking...

On the look...

I need furnishings. I did find a bit of success on the weekend. I ordered a Sleepyhead bed which should be delivered to the new home in about 2 weeks- I can't wait. It felt so comfy in the bed shop, will it be so in real life? I've also purchased a wee glass table with 4 chairs on trademe. New so far I've found a toaster, a small cutlery set, and a vaccum. I also have a couch & love seat which I was given... Lots of other things to aquire... Moving day is Saturday- the forecast is not good for Wednesday through Friday.

I've also been packing- not fun at all... You wouldn't think I have THAT much stuff, but I surprise myself. I arrived with 1 backpack just about 3 1/4 years ago. I have so much more than that now.

I'm also 99% convinced I need 2 kittens- not one so the first one doesn't get lonely. I'm really keen to see pics of the litter and find out which kitten will be mine. I'm also on the hunt for kitten number 2. Birman or ragdoll, that is the question... It would be great to get #2 about the same time as #1- which should be in December.

This & That

Stephen Harper made the cover of the Nelson Mail for his musical performance. I was very impressed to see the Nelson Mail pick it up- even though it was only a small box on the front page. Read more about his performance here http://www.charlesadler.com/2009/10/-the-ballad-of-stephen-ringo-harper.html

Back in Canada hockey season has started, and so far I'm liking what I'm reading about my Edmonton Oilers... Yes I still subscribe to an internet feed that sends me daily links of articles where they are mentioned. Not quite the same as watching the game but at least it helps me feel like I'm in touch.

Work has been busy, busy this week with month end. I like being busy much more than being not busy- but wouldn't it be nice to be just the right amount of busy instead of too busy?

Check out my future kitten: http://www.kenepurrfect.co.nz/Ragdoll%20Kittens%20For%20Sale.htm Of course I don't know which is mine- they are only babies- but looking forward to meeting her. :) I've found a few deals on kitten stuff on trade me, so have picked it up- even though kitten won't arrive for a few more months.

I start moving next weekend. This weekend I need to start finding furnishings for the new house. Next weekend will involve moving and hopefully more finding furnishings. Then comes the fun with changing addresses and cleaning the apartment. I need to not move so often, I've decided...
